Price: $249.00
The 22-1/2-inch Platinum Grill is loaded with clever extras that turn classic Weber design into a grilling machine. We start with two heat and weather resistant thermoset work tables to make grill-side seasoning and preparation easy. The grill and table are set in a rugged heavy duty steel cart frame and adorned with six handy tool hooks. To facilitate indirect cooking by heaping coals on either side of the grill grate, use the two Char-Basket charcoal fuel holders. We then added a convenient Tuck-Away Lid Holder to create a windshield for lighting the grill (and to hold the lid while you tend to the food), and tucked a wire storage rack below. Like its little sibling the One-Touch Gold Kettle, the One-Touch Platinum Grill boasts a stainless steel One-Touch Cleaning System, with a removable, black aluminum high-capacity ash catcher; a plated steel hinged cooking grate for easy, safe, and quick addition of charcoal; a no rust aluminum vent; built-in thermometer; a large front mount glass-reinforced nylon handle; and durable all-weather wheels with full wheel hubs. The result? A kettle so fancy we had to call it Platinum.
I have used Webers for over 20 years. The added shelves and lid that stays on the bbq are great features. It was a little bit difficult to assemble and the vent doesn't seem to shut completely. It should last a long time like most Webers do. -- Great BBQ
The price for a Weber is priceless when it lasts for years end. I brought one of the very first Weber dome style 22.5 inch charcoal grills 21 years ago for 29 or 39 dollars, the same basic one goes for 89 dollars now and I just recently brought the one touch platinum, not becuse I needed to, after 21 years of usages or even putting a cover over it during the four seasons (live in the east coast), it still worked as good as it did 21 years ago, but I liked the new features and additional upgrades Weber offered. I saw it in the store and walked away from it because of.....yes the price, but after some thought it was a no brainer that I had to have it...think the prices of all the Weber grills, charcoal and propane are pricey...and I have tried to avoid them but have learned in the long run that it doesn't pay to be the frisky shopper because you'll end up having to keep replacing the other units. (like I did) During my 21 stint using charcoal I have also used propane grills, went cheaper in price and they were high end models that just didn't last. Got tired of shelling out monies for propane grills every 3-4 years, so I wised up and spent the extra dollars and got a Weber propane grill last year. No regrets...my only regret is I should have known better long before now, that's why upgrading to the one touch charcoal grill at $249.00 shouldn't be a deal breaker!!! Just get one....any one....the choice is yours to fall back on...thinking no regrets are allowed with a Weber!!! -- Will Get Every Penny Back On Cost
I bought this grill because of the small foot print, the ash catcher and the side tables. The grill is very well built. I have cooked a weber kettle grill for 8 years now and love them.
So far, I am extremely pleased, However, I must say it is over priced @ $249. -- Awesome Grill
It cost a little one than the gold series, but it is stronger and better built. -- Best grill for the money
I absolutely love the stability of the footing design on the Weber Platinum. Originally I was gonna buy a One Touch Gold, but the extra height, extra workspace and stability of this one made it a winner. Originally we were just going to use this on weekends.... We use it all the time now instead of our gas grill. The charcoal experience and smell always brings up fond "memories past" of charcoal grilling. The smell brings everyone back to a good place. When our guests/relatives taste the food, they are really blown away. Without a doubt, get the charcoal chimney. It provides a quicker and cleaner start than user lighter fluid. Your Kettles are excellent Weber. We are converted...... -- Very versatile Weber Kettle Grill!
