It’s even easier to transport, and quicker and easier to set up at a tailgate party, campsite or any other location where fun, food and friends get together. Like the original RoadTrip Grill, the LXE features authentic open flame grilling, two powerful burners that are fully adjustable, electronic ignition and uncommon cooking versatility thanks to mix-and-match cooking surface options. However, a cleverly designed new stand distinguishes the LXE model from its predecessor. The X-shaped chassis is wheeled for easy maneuvering in both the upright and collapsed-for-transport positions. It sets up quickly and provides excellent stability for cooking, thanks to the simplicity of the scissor-like leg and frame design. Two side tables integrated into the unit slide out for grilling and cooking duties, then retract under the unit in a moment’s motion for travel and storage. Because the grill is affixed to the stand and the lid features a locking mechanism, the unit is secure and steady while towing it to and from a vehicle using a convenient pull handle. The Coleman Roadtrip Grill LXE is designed to be used completely assembled. If table top use is desired – simply hand remove the 4 plastic cap screws and start cooking! The Roadtrip Grill LXE is easy to assemble – Push on wheels and insert plastic handle and it is ready to use! New tool holders and stainless steel carry handles added for convenience. The LXE fits into most auto trunks/SUV’s.
The Coleman grill I purchased, is bright red, easy to use and set up. I washed the grill top with soapy water and cleaned right up for storage. I love that it compacts down for travel and easy storage. I just have to purchase the storage bag for it. -- Coleman 9949-750 Road trip grill (red)
Great for beach outings. Was a good buy until a week after I bought it, Sports Authority chain stores put it on sale for $30 cheaper and it is still on sale. Plenty of room on grill to cook. A little heavy but good and sturdy in soft sand. Would recommend over other portable grills but check prices as it is costly. -- Coleman grill
I bought this grill for use when traveling with our 5th wheel trailer. I wanted a portable grill large enough to cook on when we have guests but easy to stow in a side storage bin. This grill does both and with the 20,000 btu cooks fast even with a small portable propane tank hooked up. The only negative I find is clean up. I place foil under the grill grates and spray the grates and the foil with cooking spray but still speed 1/2 hour or so cleaning it up. I wanted to tell our guests that I would do the cooking if they clean the grill but my wife says no to that idea so Im open to any other suggestions any one out there has to offer.
-- Cooks Great, folds easy, clean up time consuming
We bought our grill for our family camping trip it was so easy to assemble and setup. I cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a family of 6, on our 4 day camping trip. I purchased the colemen griddle and I was able to make pancakes, bacon, hash browns, and eggs. For lunch I made hot dogs & hamburgers, and dinner steaks & chicken. It cooked evenly and it got very hot. I was able to quickly cook our meals and my family was very impressed with how compact it was. Cleaning was a ease I used lysol kitchen wipes and I washed in my camp kitchen sink the grills and griddle with ease. My grill looks brand new, like it was never used. I would definitely recommend this grill to anyone. My mom wants to buy one now so she can use it at her beach house. It is easy to clean, easy to cook, great time saver. I can't say enough about it. Love, love my grill!!!!! -- One of the best purchases I made for our family camping trip!!
We've been going cheap for a few years now, getting little travel/table top grills that we have to replace each year. We've always done charcoal (you can get some REALLY cheap charcoal grills#, but our new apartment has a small deck #not much space) and charcoal is not allowed.
Now -- we have one that travels easily (like our old, cheap charcoals), that we can use over again, and fits perfectly on our small deck. We looked and looked, and were about to pounce on the Weber Q, but this was way cheaper.
Even though you can't cook with the lid closed, it doesn't matter. Our food has always come out perfectly juicy and full of flavor all the way through - never over-dried. We've only had it for a few months, but have done kabobs, chicken and steak. Each meal came out incredible!
The Road Trip Grill is the perfect balance of cooking capability, portability, sturdy design, easy cleanup, and the price is right! And I'm in love with the fact that it's RED!
Oh yeah, and it has little table tops that slide in and out. So it's handy, too! There's just nothing that compares! -- Love it!
